What the hell is going on with Youtube?

Can anyone tell me why Google/Youtube or whoever runs the show keep changing the bloody interface and layout every 2-3 weeks? Just as soon as I get used to a layout and where things are they change it for no apparent reason but i've just logged in now and it looks totally different again. Is there any Waterfox/Firefox plug-ins that make it stay one style?

Really am starting to get sick of this messing about with it, it's like a bloody bunch of fidgeting children who can't sit still with the thing.

I'm not sure I ever notice these evidently infuriating changes... I just type in Gangnam style hit enter and up the videos pop..
 
My youtube layout has changed several times today, switching between the old format and the new one.

It is slightly annoying but it isn't annoying enough to make me fume.
 
I'm more annoyed with the bugs.

Halfway through a video? I'll just take that all the way back to the start for you...

And to make matters worse I'll decide to stop buffering and freeze. Oh and switch between every quality setting randomly. And sometimes I'll take 5 minutes to load a video just to annoy you, no matter how many times you refresh...
 
I've pretty much stopped using it all together... which is a shame really because it used to be so good.

I thought it was me, so glad i'm not alone :)
 
Presumably being Google they have a team dedicated to the user experience and deciding what works best on their websites. No doubt they also do studies using various groups to test each version and how people get on with it. As annoying as the changes may be, they presumably have a committee who decided its best.

I've been getting this a lot lately. Glad to know its not just me.
 
Don't worry guys, YouTube is getting old these days. A year or two down the line we'll be watching cats on a different site or two, that's a fact.

Wow I didn't mention that because I thought that was my internet playing up. I'm getting the exact BS that you've mentioned even thought i've just ran a speedtest and got 7.5Mb down which is plenty for 480p quality videos. Also the random freezes where it just stops buffering for no reason...

..why?

I have noticed this with google search. I don't find this in itself annoying, however the new interface appears to not allow exact image size search. :confused::eek:

I don't know either, I get 15meg which is enough for 1080p half the time. I've even done the google chrome fix so I have no idea what's causing it now :(
 
I refuse to take Google's crap with things like this.

The only bookmark to Youtube I have is the subscriptions page, which is the one page they haven't completely ballsed-up yet. I also have a custom userstyle (which I update everytime they mess with the site) to completely block elements I don't want like social stuff, recommendations, etc.
