What the hell is this

A device that emits powerful broadband RF radiation, distrupting any mobile phones nearby. It is illegal in this country and probably many others; we often get people asking to make them on the electronics forum and have to tell them it's illegal and totally irresponsable :rolleyes:

I thought you were questioning what it was since someone mentioned it earlier. I personally don't think that is what it is, but I really couldn't say what it actually is :confused: . Please tell us Penguin!

damn net connection dropping out all yesterday - only saw this thread this afternoon and spent the first page and a half trying to work out how to word a wikipedia article about RTC devices.... :D

and it basically looks like a project box with a wifi aerial and some kinda camera lens pokeing out the front so i'd go with the "spying on your gf/housemate in the shower device" not all that subtle till you build it into a, erm, shampoo bottle?

i've done a mockup for ya - no-one will notice it in the shower - mmmwuuu- mmwwuu-mmwwuuhahaaaaar

plug it in, put a phone near it, make a call.

you could tell straight away if it was a lens or not as well.
