received my bill today for my mobile, Vodafone, it was around £25 higher than usual, so I looked at my bill, and identified a number as: 08712005052

Looking closer it seems that its the customer service number for Overclockers, so I thought why was I charged such a huge amount for a national call??

so a 20 min and a 16 min call cost me £31.00 !!!

whhhhat! thats crazy, im so sure at this rate they are making a certian percentage from each call, Thats a MASSIVE 60p per minute!

All because I had to speak to them with regards to a RMA...

And I wasnt even aware or I would have used a landline or a payphone or chat ect.....
 
If your to lazy to look up the geographical number and cal the 087 number then ypu won't get much symphony around here. Besides it's people like you who enable people like me to enjoy free delivery.
 
0871 numbers are non geographic and IIRC are 10p per minute on BT, and 12ppm on VM from what I can see.

So I suspect it's your phone company setting the cost.
 
You didn't read your text from Vodafone saying that from August they are going to be charging an arm and leg for certain 08 numbers and you could cancel your airtime agreement with no cancellation fee if you are affected?

i always call 0870/1 numbers, i do it all the time from my mobile, its usually around 10 per min, this is the 1st time ive been charged a high amount for a national call. so i wasnt aware id pay £20
 
There is also the CS section, which is a private forum that only you and Dons/staff can read. That's my preferred option as my written English is better than spoken, but each to their own :-)

As for the 0870 number, if you weren't aware of the Stoke number, then you can usually check it up on www.saynoto0870.com

ok firstly i work 6 days a week 9 hours per day, so i consider that not lazy, secondly I googled the number on my phone, i can remember and i got the number from the overclockers site, im sure of it...

Also I get free delivery too, but im not moaning, im just a little shocked, Just thought if you guys were aware of the call charges, thats all


but it doesnt matter as overclockers did look after me bigtime as a result of the calls, so there!

It's showing as costing 25p + 12p per minute for me on 3 PAYG. It must be Voda who have changed the prices then.
 
Yeah I'm not really sure how this is the retailers fault. They advertise the geographic number everywhere I bothered to check on the site.
