The MX-4 is good Thermal Paste, and although I have not tried it myself yet I have seen
people of the forum say that the IC Diamond thermal paste is really good as well and it
gives a noticeable drop in your temps

another +1 for mx-4. used ocz freeze before and mx4 seems to get me a slight drop more in temps

Looks like the mx-4 then. Hmm- that cooler is out of stock, back to looking for one. lol

Edit: Took this one instead. Order is through. just have to play the waiting game.

I got the mx-4. I'm imaging I need to use a pea sized amount on my I5 ?

Thanks for the link blacked- pretty informative read- what exactly does the guy mean by "curing" though?

Yeah pk1 is probably the best normal type compound as tested by skinnee, indigo extreme is the absolute best but application is not for beginners as it involves reflowing the compound at near 100 degrees.Taken from http://skinneelabs.com/2011-tim-results/

Dare l say it------------->>>>>> MX4, small pea sized blob in the middle of your CPU tight'n your Heatsink down correctly, after a few days just tight'n up the screws just a touch as the tim has had time to settle down sorted. ;)

Yes, IC is top dog but rather stay with MX4 less hassle and far cheaper as well.:)

i use ic however it is harder to get it right than it is with mx-4 as its a lot thicker, so unless u want to fiddle the mx-4 is perfect

^ lol yeah- I was begining to see a trend :p I got my brother a new cooler too, since the noise of his machine has been bugging me :p

Curing is the period in which the thermal paste is not at it's best - it takes a few cycles of heating and cooling until the paste has "cured" or reached a consistency or state where it's operating perfectly. Usually takes a few hours.

Yeah, main reason I went for PK-1 is it's non conductive or corrosive, great pastes are out there for sure but with that greatness you pay for it with incompatibility with certain coolers and risk of shorting your equipment.

Traditional pastes can be used anywhere - I'm about to open my Xbox up and give it a good ol' clean-out and apply some PK-1. :D
