The only time it's an hour less or hour more is about two weeks before we change our clocks forward/backwards.

In the Summer it's: Eastern Daylight Time (Sunday 14 March 2010 2am local time until Sunday 7 November 2010 2am local time)

GMT -4
BST -5

In the Winter it's: Eastern Standard Time

GMT -5

So today 08:00 EDT is 13:00 BST.

And, just because... 7am EST and CDT (both GMT-5), 5am PDT (GMT-7), noon UTC (GMT). Can you tell I have to do this a lot?
