Me and misses purchased an ASDA take out curry for 2 last night, within 3 hours of eating it we went from feeling fine to painful stomach cramps and then the runs came! We followed the instructions (heat it up and eat) and wow 12 hours of grief, I’m still in need of a toilet break every so often. I know it’s properly just bad luck, but really should not be happening. Would you go to head office ? or back to the shop, i have kept all the packaging

If it was food poisoning from that curry, it would not give you the runs after three hours and it would last longer than twelve

Food poisoning from bacillus cereus (most commonly found in rice) can definitely give you the runs within 3 hours actually. And can last anywhere between 6 and 24 hours.

I doubt it was from the curry due to most pathogens needing around 24-48 hours to multiply

Bacteria double in number in as little as 30mins. If there was already loads of bacterial toxins in the food, poisoning would happen very rapidly. Only in cases where there the number of bacteria ingested were just over the infection threshold would you need 1-2 days for them to cause illness.
