I am off to Boston at the end of October for 4 (and a bit) days and am wondering what to do!

So far all i have planned is this-
Thurs- NHL game
Fri-
Sat-
Sun- NFL game, broken social scene gig
Mon-

So as you can see, its a bit blank!

One thing i am thinking about is a day trip to NYC (4hr bus/train ride each way though), and this would be on fri or sat. It would only be a day as i cant afford to stay over, and i was only there last December so have seen all the touristy bits!

So if anyone has any ideas of things to do to fill the gaps then that would be great!

Thanks

boston downtown is quite good for shopping. Otherwise just get on a train and go somewhere close like Salem.

Have you already got game tickets? most games sell out.

Luckily as i am on my own game tickets are easy enough to get hold of. I am in the 6th row behind the Patriots bench for the NFL for example, hehe.

Boston Common is nice to walk about, as it the University area near Harvard. In addition, I am also liked the Science Museum and the Museum of Fine Art is good if it is raining.

The main thing I wanted to go but could not was see the Red Sox. I found Boston to be mad about Baseball - the other sports are secondary.

Walk round the city. There's a red line painted on the ground and it takes you round all the major sites, well worth it. (Sounds pap but is interesting)
Eat clam chowder
Visit the Samuel Adams brewery
Visit Harvard campus and MIT

Baseball is over now, well, apart from the playoffs and World Series. The RedSox just made it into the playoffs, but they are unlikely to get into the World Series. Which is a shame, as whilst i am there is right in the middle of the World Series!

The Patriots game should be good though, as its always a sellout, and the Patriots are actually quite good! hehe

True, I had forgotten that the season was nearly over.

I would agree with the Chowder. Drink shed-loads of Sam Adams. And don;t forget to eat some Boston Beans.

The patriots aren't good this year!
+1 for clam chowder and Harvard campus! Go talk to some students thats always fun!

MIT, Boston U and harvard are all in the central boston area, go check out the babes, party, have a tea party and visit cape cod. Not a lot to do in boston tbh, its expensive and just an old town. Maybe check out the redsox?
