What to do to keep spiders at bay... ?

As the title really. Now ocuk peeps fall into two camps here...

1) you too hate the things, and will suggest ways to keep them away / kill 'em all (nukes from orbit / fire, etc)

2) those that will no doubt post pics of scary mofo ones.

I await the responses.

Thankfully in the past year I've only seen two in my room. They know a bad man lives in there who doesn't like them.

I cleaned out our shed recently which was full of spiders when I put it back together I put one of those spider ultrasonic repellent plugs from eBay in there and so far its kept them out

There's not much you can do apart from keeping windows and doors closed.

I've never tried those ultrasonic things, might be worth a shout.

/leaves thread before spider pics turn up.

The conkers thing is an old wives tale, but perhaps the spiders don't know that.

To be honest I was properly terrified of spiders and now I own two tarantulas. Totally got over it quite quickly.

There are two things you need to know.

Spiders never nest in chestnut or cedar wood.
Cedar wood cladding is usually cheaper than chestnut.

They only work if you have mains into your shed. I have one of those metal yardmaster sheds so I can't fill in the holes around the roof cause it needs them for ventilation. Search on eBay for "ULTRASONIC PEST REPELLER AND NIGHT LIGHT INSECT RAT" thats the one I use, only around a fiver
