What to do what to do.

a proper respray would cost an absolute fortune surely? engine and running gear all out, all the interior out etc etc, not suggesting you don;t know this but come on.. can't be worth it?

Also my vote is for the original blue, its one of the best things about the R32 the fact that you can get it in THAT colour.

i know about the cost.

thats a good point, you can only get this car in that colour, and the mk5 r32.

A decent job would cost a lot more than that.

You would be surprised, 3 friends went to two good local body shops for full resprays all were perfect they had varying prep work required so were £1k-1.3and ironcially one was a Mk3 Golf getting a colour change to R32 blue that was £1500 including the door shuts etc.

On a car the value of the OP's id imagine he would want a proper respray doing.. that includes more than the "door shuts" its an interior out.. engine out.. running gear out. Then shell sprayed and all pannels etc Looking at a lot more than £1500 mate.

I would go for the blue, as cheapest and most practical.

I would want the white though, but as said for a decent job the whole shell would have to be stripped and sprayed not worth the money imo.

How much would it cost though?

One of the resprays was a full respray in the same colour though, engine was out, windows etc as he was in the process of dropping in a G60 only thing left on it was the wheels I think, car was taken to shows etc so it was a good job.

I assume all the people saying they cost more have actaully had experience of getting a full respray done ? Coming to think of it it was actually 4 cars that I know of getting a full repsray the bodyshop is a Audi approved one and used by helphire so I can gaurantee you they are doing a good job.

fundamentally with jobs like spraying it all comes down to how much money they want to make.

the cost of the paint is marginal compared to the labour. And with labour charges you can just charge what you want. And its not automatic that somebody who doesnt charge the earth has to do a bad job. I'll conceed this is normally the case :D but its not a rule because sprayers can charge what they want.

Keep it blue :D, definitely one of the nicest colours going!!!!!

White does look good on the TT and new MKV golf git though!!!!!!
