The guy just asked what to do with 10grand, it's hardly a sin just asking is it  I hardly think he's showing off, 10grand is chump change these days anyhow.

Exactly, it isn't a large sum. If i had more i would know to buy a property, and wouldn't have made a thread :).

Anyway, sorry to all, let the thread die.

Waht to do with 10K? How about you help a nigerian man like me that got scammed by a british fraudster? :p Email in trust.

How long did it take you to get that nice little sum of money together then? :)

I have just under 3k so that pales in comparison to yours :p

Around 27 months, give or take 1 either way. You will be surprised how quickly it builds up. 1k was a milestone at first, then 5k, guess 15k is next unless i put it into property.

When it comes to buying a house, it's a paltry deposit unfortunately :( I don't have a lot more saved towards my deposit and I'm not exactly relishing the thought of buying in the next month or 2 :(

1st class ticket out of this craphole of a country.

Must admit I'm dithering on whether to invest money in redoing exams for IT Quals that have lapsed in order to get more leverage on a permanent trip to New Zealand :)

The good lady amd myself dabbled with shipping out to NZ but dropped the idea because of family issues at the time. I am seriously considering the option again.

£10k "Chump Change" - I'm pleased you think so.
I take it you don't have a mortgage or a family then?
Oh I love the way people throw around figures of even a few thousand as if it is worth nothing.

£10k? chump change? bloody hell, mind if I have look down the back of your sofa under finders keepers rules please? :p

I had £10k from an inheritance a little while back, blew it all on a car, didn't regret it :p

Can't say i know, but the older you get the more you start to realise materialistic things don't matter as much. :)
Amen to that. I also have a few quid in an ISA and I like having it there.

A few thousand doesn't go far these days tbh so why so surprised? Sad but true :(
