What to do..?

I would just try and explain to her that nothing is going to or can happen between you, see how she takes that, it might just be that as you have said she is having problems at home with her parents and needs somewhere to hang out until things sort themselfs out.

I just realised that for about 8 years I lied about my whereabouts to my parents on an almost constant basis.

"I'm at Nick's in Newcastle for the weekend"

or

"I've gone to London for the weekend to meet people off the internet, go clubbing, see a few bands and get absolutely munted."

Which would you tell your parents when you're 13?

....
Me too.

I now wonder, though, if they actually bought it? Or just pretended to?

While thats all well and good and she might be cool with that to his face, whats to stop her going to school and telling her mates she's sleeping at his flat, and embelishing the story slightly as teenage girls do? Then one of her mates telling her mum? Then her mum telling the girls mum? He has to put a stop to it properly. And probably consider telling the parents what has been happening.

Am I the only one who never lied to my folks as to where I was?

Scarily my mum knew where I'd been, who I was with and what I'd got up to before I woke up after a night out once. :scary:

Ok valid point.....

Maybe you should approach the parents, but then again that could be more trouble than before.....best to put a stop to things now before any more harm is done.

I should think most people did. I used to tell my parents I was at a friends in a different town, she'd say the same to hers, then we'd go out clubbing and sleep in half built houses on building sites. The situations we got ourselves in on a few occasions....how we got out unscathed is nigh on a miracle. I know my parents had no clue because if they had I'd have been knocked into next week.

I used to lie to my parents about where I was going, but they normally found out what I had been up to when the local bobby would take me home :D

Well, my parents certainly had me believing that they'd have grounded me 'til I was drawing my pension if I'd been caught.

But now ..... I wonder. :)

I never lied as such, I just never told her where I was going!! :)

One time, we had been out clubbing and I realised I had forgot my keys, so rather than bang on the door at 4am, I kipped round my mates house. At 6am the phone rang at my mates - twas my mum!!

The mother radar is very accurate!!

You may as well tell them where you are cos they will know anyway!

Ah. That's a bit of a giveaway, I guess. I must admit there was a time or two where the local constable seemed to find my ear far too convenient a place to grab me. Wouldn't happen these days, though.

Sounds about right. As I said earlier .... parents usually aren't thick, or naive. Kids just think they are. ;)

Cant remember the last time I saw a local bobby on the beat around here...
