What To Do?

LOL, now I don't know if I should get the Bad Axe 2 seeing as it's still cheaper than the 680i. God I'm hopeless. :(

Edit: No, sod it. The 650i is only £80, I must be mad to consider anythng else.

Edit: Going with the P5B Deluxe for £120, good old 965P. Sticking with what I know. :p

Edit: Asus P5B Deluxe and G.Skill HZ memory ordered, BFG 680i and Crucial 10th Ann. are going back.

why is that then?
I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with it, but since I'm sending the 680i back I will have a bigger budget for RAM, I'm going to get some G.Skill HZ 6400 instead.

The Annies are fine, but I feel uneasy about having 667 rated memory clocked so high (even if they can take it), going to get straight-up 800 stuff. It was fine with the 680i because I could always run them unlinked if I wanted, 965P won't give me that option so I need to spend just a shade more.

Hmmm, well its your choice, the Crucial 10th is all singing all dancing, used a lot of ram over the years (had a load of problems too!) but the 10th just installs easy, works 100% and I can bend it to my will (mu-ha-ha) very versatile indeed!

the only way I'd let mine go would be for someone to prise them from my dead fingers, so u gotta ask yourself this question, do you feel lucky punk . . .well do ya! :D

Yeah, it holds up well, I'll just have to see how the G.Skill performs before I decide wether or not to send the Crucial stuff back. The P5B and G.Skill will be here tomorrow so I'll have the opportunity to test both before I phone OcUK. I may well end up keeping the Crucial.

For anyone who is reading this and is worried about the BFG 680i board, mine runs fine.

That said, if I was buying now I would consider the 650 SLi. :)

But then the P965 chipset has matured....? :)

Its all fun and games eh? ;)

Aye, that's why I'm going back to 965P. It's matured now, and my last board was 965P so I'm much more familiar with the chipset in general.

As said, the 680i chipset is probably fine. I just got the most duff board ever.

I think I might have overspent on the board, but it is really reliable so I can't say it has been a duff purchase.

If I was building for someone else, I would go 650 or P965.

The P5B deluxe working out? No audio issues or anything?

Dunno, it arrives tomorrow. I was a bit pre-emptive on the sig. :p

I doubt I'll have any audio issues though because my X-Fi will be going in it.

Gahh - missed this thread, otherwise would have twisted your arm into a BX2 Ulf :D

I'm no Intel Fanboy, but this board shafts every other board I've ever owned. Period.

I'm having an amazingly good time with this board and overclocking, its been a breeze so far! :)
