What to do?

The wife said i can get a 580 and a ssd :) what size ssd will i need for vista and wow cataclysm and a bit of room to play with?
Thanks for all your advice :)

well i have got windows 7 and WOW on an 80Gb Intel with 24.3Gb left, so i would recommend bigger than a 64Gb drive. Especially with the stupid way that WOW uses extra space when patching lately.

Well i have downloaded Catalysm in advance from Blizzard the other day and my WOW install folder is 31GB.

A 64 gb SSD will be around 60GB when windows see its,so you will be close to its capacity i think with WOW and Win 7.

This would be good but its going to add another £50 : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-059-OC&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=910

Its also a 3.5 SSD and not the standard 2.5.

mine is only 22.2b but of course i expect the cata dvd would add the extra 9 Gb.

one of the issues is the way that WOW installs stuff, for example the last patch 4.0.1 it was only just under 6Gb in size but it needed 17Gb of space to use for its installation.

the 90Gb bigfoot is a nice drive and at a good price.

I'm pushing it with the other half going for a 580 and 90gb ssd .....might have to wait on the ssd, decided to go single card 580 and charm her for the 90gb ssd next month :)
