What to get: 360 & GOW OR Wii & Zelda:TP?

gow + 360 for me.

For some reason the WII (and zelda especially) does not interest me at all at the moment .

I just don't understand the appeal of a zelda like game or what makes its 'so good', just looks like a standard rpg/platformer to me.

(please note I am in no way saying its a bad game)

GoW + Xbox 360 would be my choice purely on the range of games available on both consoles.

However if you have had a nintendo console in the past and really enjoyed it then perhaps the Wii would be best since you already know what kind of games that Nintendo will release on the Wii

why not try this;

XBOX360 + GOW etc+
GCube and play Zelda on that?
Great idea, but will the GCube have any performance difference i.e. will the Wii have more detailed graphics?

That's a good idea if the Wii's controls don't remotely interest you. the other point of view though is that if you got the Wii you'd be able to play GC games on that - and the new Wii titles coming out like Metroid.

If you can't see yourself getting any other titles for the Wii for some time, the combo of x360, cube and zelda would be good.

That's a tough one. GoW has easily been goty for me - co-op and 4 vs 4 is just sooooo much fun. Zelda on the Wii, if it lives up to the reviews, should be one of the best in the series, which'd make it one of the best games ever made.

I'm glad it's a decision I don't have to make :p

i enjoyed my gamecube, but ended up playing only 5 games.
at the moment i would get the 360. there are 4/5 good games (out of 100) but great games are coming out. did i say GTA? ;)

360, it's more established, has more features and has a well established online service.

360 is the new mainstream console, Wii will be the second choice most commonly, like the Gamecube was usually 2nd choice to Xbox and PS2.

Edit: If you want a next gen console graphics wise, do not get a Wii, it's not next gen at all it looks as bad as PS2 graphics on some games, COD3 for example.

I'm a wii fanboy, but I woud go for the 360, for the simple fact that it has a bigger catalogue.

GoW is pretty good, looks great and plenty of action, but I'm finding it pretty short lived. MP was fun for awhile, but I'm not really a fan of "round" based games.

Personally though, I can't wait for my Wii + Zelda :D

I would say if you can get on live or you have mates on live get 360 & Gears. Co-op mode is the bomb and its one of the best implemented co-op's I've seen in a long time. Reminded me of playing doom via dialup 33k modem with my m8 waaaaaaay back :D (who cares about phone bills!!)

I've bought pretty much every console since Snes (1st day of release) and this time I've not bothered pre-ordering a Wii. I think I will get one when they are easier to find and when there is more s/w available - I've no doubt Zelda will be a top top top game but with 360 you've just got a more established system. 360 has a good s/w base now - live is pretty damn smart (arcade, chat etc) - just a cracking package.

And regards buying a console for 1 game - well I got PS2 for Gran Turismo, Xbox for Halo, Saturn for Virtua Fighter, Snes/N64/Cube for Mario.. you get the point :)

If you've not already pre-ordered a Wii, then it's unlikely you'll get one on your birthday anyway.
Are you interested in any of the other current 360 games or the advertised Wii games? It might sound like a good idea to get a console for one game, but if you don't have any interest in any more, you'll get bored quickly and it's not nice to sell presents!

Have a look at what is/will be available for both consoles, and decide based on what type of game you like best. No-one here can tell you what you like.
