What to get next?

Some Volvo S60s and V70s come with AWD.

Have you ever tried accessing your drive with a 2wd on winter tyres?
You'd be surprised how effective winter tyres can be with only 2 driven wheels.
Nothing beats 4WD and winter tyres though

As I said, I put winter tyres on my 335d, now that had an auto box and nearly 500 lbft of torque going through the rear wheels, so not exactly ideal for winter driving. It was the only car in the street that could make it out onto the road a couple years ago though. Because of the winter tyres.

Well, that and obviously my Range Rover with Mud + Snow tyres on it.

So why not just get a Disco and be done with it if it's that bad?

I do have 4x4's available to me, not 100% of the time though and especially in winter when everyone else at home will be wanting to use them. I want a car for work and other commitments, my current vehicle has suited me well, but I feel its time for a change.

I am just trying to get some idea of what other AWD saloons/hatches are available in my price range.

Thanks for the suggestions so far, keep them coming if you can think of anything. Will have a look at some volvo's.
