I currently am running whats in my sig, after a small upgrade to intel. Im using the Asrock board and still my agp x1950pro, and I can still play most games on med/high at 1440x900 ok.

Looking thru the forums and on the OcUk site I know I will probably need a new board, but what grafx to go for.. an 8800GT or a 3850/70? Never used let alone seen a pci-e card, so need some advice.

Oh and merry chrimble to you:D

A 3870 or 8800gt would be the only really worthwhile upgrades for you and the 8800GT is quite a lot faster for not much more money :)

What about 1440x900 benchies tho  lol. Also would I need a new mobo, as the asrock's pci-e is only 4x

Although i dont agree with his choice i think you should get the cheapest 8800GT. but seems there are more pixels in .... 1280 x 1024 ( 1310720 ) then 1440 x 900 ( 1296000 ) i think its fairly safe to presume that if it has good performance at that resolution then it will at your resolution... so hold off on the  .
