Hi Guys,

I currently have a 500gb HDD with everything installed, but purchasing an SSD, I was thinking of getting 120GB SSD and just installing windows and anti-virus on this and everything else on HDD, would this work?

Thanks

Yup, no reason why it wouldn't. Although just install anything you want to load a bit faster on your SSD.

I have a 256GB SSD and I have all of my programs and a handful of most played games on it.

1st SSD 120gb - OS, office, visual studio, other most used apps.
2nd SSD 500gb - Games
3rd HDD - 4 tb storage/miscellaneous rarely used apps.

Would suggest a bigger SSD if you game considering the size of modern games (otherwise 120gb is fine if you have further storage). :)

Brilliant thanks, it will be used for gaming however not sure what games yet as its for my Son, but the 500GB is cheaper than what i've been looking at thanks

Oops sorry! Yeah thats a 250gb. :)

My 9 year old has filled a 250gb and on the way towards filling a second 250gb ssd as well. All games and granted you can uninstall stuff but modern games can be huge.

If you have decent internet its not too bad, can redownload 10-20 gig in no time. Then there is stuff like GTA V which is huge, 60gig+. (Though hes not old enough to play that)

Yeah well he told me he only wants to play minecraft atm however i suspect once he gets it for crimbo he gunna play alsorts and im gunna need a 1 million tb drive haha

It'll work fine, the way you want to go about it. What you could do later is get another SSD say a 500GB purely for game installs.

I have the following setup:

120gb m.2 drive for Windows,
1TB SSD for Games,
2TB soon to be 4TB for storage.

I was thinking of just having 120GB SSD and then buying an additional 1tb HDD so would have 1.5GB of storage for games in total

Works either way, If you don't mind longer load times having them on a HDD will be fine, you could look at getting a SSHD 1TB that may increase speeds slightly on games you play the most.
