Hi guys, need a bit of advice here, im atm using a 8800GTX Ultra graphic card for a while now, and its starting to crash when playing games and getting artifacts when playing movies, so im hoping to change it to something else, and here a few card that i been looking at...

8800GT
9600GT
9800GX2
Ati HD3870 X2

so which of those card is close to my 8800GTX Ultra or even better? i know 1 or 2 of those 8800GT had very good review, but they seem to run pretty hot, which is a worry for me of how long will they last (I use my pc only to play games and watch movies btw), 9600GT look good, but only running on 64 Stream? which is lower than the 8800GT, does that make much different in performance? now 9800GX2 and Ati HD3870 X2 look very good, but do they have the proper drivers to run on Window Vista 64 yet? sorry for so many questions, hope someone could give me some ideas which 1 to go for before my 8800GTX die...hehhe..

thank in advance guys..

also for your expert modders, where should i put temp probe to on a graphic card to read the true temp? i atm have the probe on my 8800 GTX fan housing and it read around 31-39C which surely cant make the card over heat? any advice on this will be very grateful, thank guys.

Out of warranty? even my 16 month old 8800GTX is still in warranty.

As for upgrades, only the 9800GX2 I would consider an upgrade, everything else is a downgrade or sidestep.

Thank for the reply guys, just check its not out of warranty yet, but i dont have the package that came with the card, will BFG except the return with no packing?

You need to email BFG, they will email you back asking for various details including serial no. When this is all sorted they will give you an address in Wales to send it back to and will specifically ask you NOT to use any of the original packaging as this is not suitable for shipping.

I recently returned my 8800GTX oc2 that was crashing under load in games. I was pleasantly surprised how efficient they were. I returned the Card on the Monday and received a replacement on the Thursday!

By my reckoning you have just saved yourself around £300 :) Gratz!!

As far as i'm aware the BFG 8800gtx carry a lifetime warranty so it shouldn't matter when you bought it. They didn't even want proof of purchase off myself, just the serial number on the card

Good luck
