I am waiting for either the new 3070-80 or AMD alternative, so not going to be upgrading anytime soon, i am just wondering when I do finally upgrade my system, should I upgrade my GPU first or CPU?

I game at 1440p

You'll need a full upgrade or you'll be quite heavily bottle necking something like a 3080.

Agreed just go for a new build. Knowing how popular the new Rtx line will be, buying a whole custom build with a Rtx 3070/3080 included will be a good way to beat the low stock issue that will occur.

I was more leaning toward a completely new build but could only afford to do one thing first new cpu/mobo/ram or a new gpu although i think i read somewhere that Zen4, as well as big navi, is going to be revealed soon.

Its Zen 3 :D

Grab a new gpu first yeah we know it will be bottlenecked some what by your cpu but it will probably be the biggest impact on performance.

The only nagging doubt I have is would a 3080
Work In a n older motherboard as the last bios update for your board was 4 years ago.

This can easily be found out when others do the same.

Iv not noticed any bottlenecking as yet, what do i have to look out for when that happens? is it 100% CPU usage or the other way around?

I think you should definitely try to get yourself a new gpu first. It will have the best impact on your performance, even if it gets bottlenecked then. You will definitely notice it, that i can promise

Cpu working at 100% is a clear indication that it's at its limit, by how much it's bottlenecking take s look at benchmarks and compare cpu's
