What to upgrade to from a GTX470?

Hey guys,

I've currently got an MSI GTX470 Twin Frozr II graphics card, and I'm considering an upgrade, so what would be a decent upgrade for a decent price?

I seem to be drawn to custom cooler models and I'm gaming on a 24" 1920x1200 screen (rest of the spec is a decent i5 2500K pc)

Any ideas please?

Thanks for the rec, just looked on Anandtech and it looks like a nice upgrade, any idea when we'll see custom cooler models? I thought I saw a MSI Twin Frozr on OCUK the other day but it disappeared again shortly after?

Yes wait. I have a feeling the 7970 will soon drop to around £350 thanks to Kepler, so you will end up with a much better card whether you go Kepler or not

Cool thanks stulid, might hold out for an MSI or Gigabyte due to warranty etc, but I'll have a read of the reviews you listed

@ ALXAndy, would be sweet if the AMDs dropped like that in price, would make them more realistic in price or if Nvidia decided to play the price game and really put a sweet price on the new 6 series cards (I may be dreaming though on that one) lol

Not sure about that but would it make a big difference on price? Just asking as if it didn't I think my upgrade would be to something like a 3GB card, seems to be the general direction of these cards, make a nice upgrade from my 1.2GB 470

They will all show up when Kepler releases. Right now AMD want to make as much money as possible. When the competition starts so will the spec/price cuts.

id wait a while for kepler, your GTX 470 will do you well for that time. And as other said the 7*** may drop in price after the kepler release, some relief if it doesn't live up to the billing.
