Heya, currently deciding what to upgrade or whether to leave it for abit? Can currently play Starcraft 2 in 1920x1080with no problems but I still have a feeling things could be faster. Here's my current rig...tell me what you think would need upgrading now and what could wait cheers.

E8500
Asus P5Q-E Motherboard
4GB DDR2 Ram
285 GTX Graphics Card
250gb Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive
Antec 900 Case
Corsair HX 520 PSU

use samsung 40" lcd as monitor.

It worth upgrading at the moment? mainly do some gaming and web browsing!

Is your cpu overclocked? If not, a decent cooler would be a good investment to get more out of your cpu.

Assuming it is, however, I might suggest a bigger HDD as a minor upgrade. Maybe even get two and raid them? I'm in the same boat as you tbh and it looks like either a full socket upgrade or buy an SSD (both not cheap!)

Supposedly. I'm too skint to give you first-hand feedback on SSD's, but HDD is usually the final bottleneck once you have a balanced system. You should reach 4GHz on that chip np with a decent cooler (and depending on your RAM). Got my E8400 to 4.5GHz stable on a £12 zalman cooler so you should be fine for 4GHz. You have a good board for it too.

If you do upgrade anything, I'd start with things you can migrate to a new build (HDD, case, gfx card, etc), seeing as you're nearly at the top of S775 spec (bar the overpriced Q9xxx series chips). Then when you have the cash get a cheap i7 off MM once they start upgrading to the new intel chips. That's my plan anyway: stay a socket behind and get it cheap lol.
