I typically write things like..

"Send help!"

"Happy Birthday!"

"Merry Christmas!"

etc.

On someone's birthday card I wrote
"Sorry to hear you're leaving."

Just mix it up a bit.

I remember one leaving card that went around where I used to work was 'signed' by a rather busty member of staff by laying the card at the edge of the table, resting her ample assets (clothed) on the card, drawing round the outline then applying lipstick and kissing the card
