What TV show was this?

I was a child when it was on. I'm sure it was late 80's/early 90's.

All I can remember is it was set somewhere like New York, and it was about some kind of werewolf man who fought crime and used to get about the city by clinging on to subway trains.

Sounds crazy I know, but I'm sure it was like that.

only thing that comes to mind for me is beauty and the beast the one with ron pearlman and linda hamilton but as you said its not that so am stumped :confused:

It actually could well be beauty and the beast but I am trying to find clips of him riding the subway. He definitely clung to the top of subway trains.
