What TV shows are you currently watching

StarTrek Discovery.

I think it's the nature of the beast that many series gradually get worse with each new season after a time, this is managing to do it by the episode now. Season 1, was dull as dishwater but hey, it's new give it time to find it's feet. Season 2, better for the introduction of Anson Mount as Capt. Pike, who for me just carried the the show. Season 3, hugely disappointing from start to finish. It's just overly convoluted twaddle. What makes it more annoying is that it obviously has a huge budget, the CGI are big screen quality yet the story telling and plot lines are awful.

StarTrek Discovery.
Unfortunately for these sci-fi TVs, writers always seem to think putting time travel in the story line will make things interesting and that they can start fresh on some ideas without worrying about continuity or consequences.

such lazy and small minded approach,will ultimately lead to the downfall of the show.

Finished Supernatural at last. It got samey but I loved it anyway. The ending was a bit meh, but Covid restrictions fudged everything up.

Also finished Ashes to Ashes. Holy moly. Gene Hunt is a legend.

Can someone do me a small favour and check on Prime if episodes 3-9 of season 1 of Handmaid’s Tale are “unavailable”. I’m getting a weird error. Have tried a multiple devices and even Amazon website but only episodes 1, 2 and 10 are playable, the others have no play button and instead show the episode’s image but display the message: “We’re Sorry, An error occurred when we tried to process your request. We expect to resolve it shortly. Please try later”.

:confused:

Amazon fixed this for me briefly before New Year and I was able to watch Season 1, but the problem as recurred. The same fix (resetting region to UK) didn't work this time and the CS rep claims it is because of Brexit, claiming some titles will not work in the EU (which I'm not in) and I will need to sign up for Amazon.com! What utter bs, every other show I watch works fine and Amazon treats Jersey as part of the UK/British Isles, so just nonsense. I feel like I've had my ham sandwich confiscated...

Works fine for me.

Just finished watching the serpent on BBC iplayer. 8 episode dramatisation of 70's serial killer Charles Sohbraj. Really good stuff, well acted and gripping.
I watched the first one and it didn't grip me, you obviously liked it so did you like it from the get go or did it get better?

Story does take a couple of episodes to get going. I'd definitely give it at least another episode to see if it's your thing or not.

For me, this was one of the better productions of this type. The lead actor really does a good job of making you loathe him :p

I think someone mentioned it in this thread, started watching A.P. Bio. Not bad, so far. A young psychology professor who ends up teaching High School in some out back school, uses his class to plot revenge on those that have wronged him. (Comedy)

Rewatching series one of True Detective. Love it, so good :)

Also polishing off The Mandalorian series 2 at the moment, really enjoying it too. Baby Yoda is so damn cute! Love the theme tune too.

Decided to finally catch up on some tv shows i had got into when first released but for various reasons I hadn't kept up with.

Starting with The 100 where I last saw up to season 4 episode 2. Apparently there are now 7 seasons so gonna take me a while but I'm back to part time work/furlough for the moment so that will give me some time to catch up lol

I need a new TV show for me and my Mrs an Mum to watch.

We loved, Broadchurch, Dexter , just recently watched the undoing which we would give a solid 10!

Also seen the Killing = 10

Can anyone recommend something? that keeps you on your edge of your seat, Drama , Thriller type show

Anyone seen "your honour"?

The Expanse.. S1-3 decent (and 4K), S4 seem ok, S5 seems to be meandering without a real purpose.

@Helen some possible interesting ones (the Mrs likes crime, suspense etc):
* The Triology - The invisible guardian, The legacy of the bones, Offering to the storm (Spanish)
* Le Mante (French)
* The Break (French)
* The Method (Russian)
* The Alienist (US)

All are worth the original language and subtitles.. they don't give in to a quick story line and build nicely.

Some additional suggestions here: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/good-murder-mysteries.18902618/

Spiral on BBC iPlayer. Just finished season 8 last night. Loved it.

Started the Expanse again last night. I tried to start ages ago and things go in the way. Enjoyed the first episode.

Followed it up by starting Line of Duty as well.

We're watching this too, got 3 left. Really enjoying it!

@nands As Ivan said it take a couple of episodes to get going after the second one it should get you. :)

You on Netflix is somewhat Dexter-esque with the inner monologue and anti-hero aspects. I enjoyed both seasons.

The Flight Attendant was also good.
