hello there, little advice needed, my system spec is in my sig, 3800 single core 2gb 667mhz ram and a 7600gt.

considering the 3800 single core, what do you think would be a worthwhile upgrade to the graphics department, or what should i keep my eye out on for a steal in the near future that would be a good investment? in terms of money, i want to spend as little as possible, and if i do upgrade in the near future, id sell my 7600gt for £30 ish (fully boxed all original stuff never oc'd), and ive got 1gb ddr2 pc5300 ram (2x512) corsair value select to sell, so maybe £45 all together to add into the pot.

what would be the cheapest and best upgrade in the near future to last a while? or what should i wait for?

A 2900 pro gives great bang for bucks.

On a cheaper budget the x1950pro is also a steal considering performance for price.

looking at the x1950 pro, would you say this is about 1.5x power of 7600gt? looking at a res of 1440 * 900. i think im gonna wait for a while, maybe get a cpu and gpu upgrade next year when ill be able to get the 8800 or 2900 series for a bit cheaper.

x1950 pro ive seen for £70 new, so you reckon id be able to get one for around £50 used? if so then i might try and get one of these, as if i sold my 7600 for £30 thats £20 for a decent upgrade, might look into this.

Could be dodgy warranty or none at all though?. I'd pay the £20 extra for a card I could return if faults happen ;).

good point, i see a new saphire x1950 pro 512mb for £90 ish, would this be a worthwhile upgrade for £45 if i sell my other stuff?

i am still unclear on what to do after looking around for a fair while, although i have seen some used cards for good prices, but im not keen on buying used stuff.

what advice would anyone give when buying used cards from auction sites and the MM, and how do the deals take place? i.e. who sends first? how is money sent?

and finally, if i decide to go used, what should i be able to get for £90inc ?
