What UPS?

I'm thinking about getting a UPS as sometimes we have power failures.

I'm not too up to speed on loads/currents etc but wanted something that could run my PC (Spec in sig) + 1 29" Monitor and a small network switch for anything over 5 mins.

I was thinking about something like this

Do you reckon that would be good enough?
I'm basing this on work where I have one old server that is plugged into a APC Smart UPS 1500 (The one up from this one) and the load indicator is minimal.

Any feedback would be appreciated :)

The one you link to is probably overkill for your needs. I'd go with something like this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=UP-049-AP&groupid=702&catid=55&subcat=1208

Though don't expect to be able to carry on using it for too long however. Our ones at work can continue running the PCs connected for a further 15 minutes after a power failure. The 5 minutes you expect is probably about right.

They are expensive though so it's only worthwhile if you get an awful lots of power cuts and are scared of them frying your computer. I'd suggest turning off power resume in the bios/EFI so that it stays off after a power failure, to protect from when the power goes off and on and back off again.

Thanks for the reply.
I did originally look at that one but I'm confused as it says output is 400WATTS.

Without trying to sound like a complete idiot, my PSU is 750, while I appreciate my PSU isn't at 100% load all the time, if I were gaming and pushing along my components, I'm not sure what would happen is my PC were using over 400 and then the power tripped.

See my point? :)

I have had the UPS linktoinsanity has linked to for over 6 years now and it's powered the spec in my sig and 4 extra hard drives without any problems (inc the 2x 20" monitors @ 30% brightness) and it has saved me many times.

I've only just got the GTX 570 though. If I was worried I would probably buy myself one of those plug socket "power meters" and see how much my PC was drawing first.

*edit*

Oh P.S I used to have a APC SmartUPS 700va (beige version of this) https://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SU700IBX120 but the battery went fubar after about 2 years, and the whole thing cost me about £180 6-8 years ago so I was relunctant to buy another SmartUPS (although it was nice to have the load indicators).
