I've shortlisted:
  • CyberPower OLS2000ERT2U (£791.51) + network card (£144.29) = £935.80
  • Eaton 5PX1000IRTNG2BS 5PX Gen2 + network card £1090.98
  • TRIPP LITE SMX1500XLRT2U (£636.80) network card (£376.43) = £1013.23
The CyberPower is a fully online one, while the other 2 are line-interactive. Even though online UPSes are meant to be a lot more expensive, the CyberPower is the cheapest. But I've heard online ones are not as energy efficient as line-interactive?

Eaton's web software doesn't seem free, but Tripp Lite and Cyberpower is.

Do you select car based on colour, not on your needs..?

Without knowing what will be powered on from it - how can we give you advice???

Ah sorry! It'll be powering some NUCs, a Dell 210, a Unifi switch, and other small things. I've calculated I need around a few 100W.

If you need 1000-1500W - then 2000W advertised is what you need, so CyberPower is only one choice. Loss on conversion, you don't run device at 100% capacity at any time, that kind of things.
Found that external battery packs are useful as 5 mins on battery power will not be enough to power down safely all equipment, even if it's just a case of switching back on fuse tripped due to user stupidity.

As per devices:
CyberPower OLS2000ERT2U (£791.51) + network card (£144.29) = £935.80
- C20 input plug, hope it's included in box
- Battery - replaceable by Qualified Personnel Only????
+ Extendable by additional External Battery Packs

Eaton 5PX1000IRTNG2BS 5PX Gen2 + network card £1090.98
+ normal computer power socket, so no need for specialised cable
+ battery is user replaceable
- underspec'ed for your needs
- not expandable

TRIPP LITE SMX1500XLRT2U (£636.80) network card (£376.43) = £1013.23
+ normal computer power socket, so no need for specialised cable
+ Extendable by additional External Battery Packs
+ battery is user replaceable
- underspec'ed for your needs
Weirdly - one of pictures was showing hardwired power input cable???

My take on them.

These are kilowatt+ units but you need a few hundred watts - besides being overspecced, they'll be less efficient too. Have you looked for something smaller?

I have a APC Smart-UPS SMC1000IC (£450 ish if you look round) It has been protecting my home server/nas/router box , 8 port Switch, Fibre box and my 8 channel NVR .

It's proved it's worth several times now too .

Needing the ones you have specd like other have said seems somewhat overkill.

I've calculated I need around a few 100W.

For how long? For example, I have two 1600W Cyberpower UPSs. The one protecting this PC sees a draw of about 270-300W and will work for half an hour, running my PC, three monitors, two USB hubs, and a few other bits. The one protecting my server, NAS box, and switches will give me nearly an hour as the draw is about 150W.
