what video card for i3 system?

Hello,

I had an Asus 6850 Direct CU card which became faulty, I returned it and I am receiving a refund of around £140 -£150 so I can choose another.

It was a good card but I don't want to buy the same one again

Would a higher spec card be overkill for my Intel i3 530 system e.g. a Radeon 6950?

your cpu is slower than a q6600 and according to this the i3 530 beats the q6600

yes I seen that advert and it is a great deal, problem is I'd need a PSU also.

I only have a 400W OCZ StealthXtreme with 1 PCI-E connector

I'm a man of measly sort of earnings only getting 4hours work a week (joys of teaching!)

I suppose I could manage to stick £60 on top of my rebate so approx £200 for a card and a PSU that can run it

I could sell my OCZ and an old video card I have lying about maybe getting 30-40 quid for both
