Sinc when are the network adapters £40 ??
I thought they were like £15/20 ??
anyone clarify that ?
it was in the new members section. the pc i had built was and fx6200 with a 2gb gt610Hello i've just done my first pc build. I've moved hobbies from rc cars to pc's. Ive got a budget pc with nothing overclocked and its running ok so far.
Hiya all, bit of a crap 1st post but I've hit a snag building my latest PC. My components are:
MSI K9A Platinum
AMD6000+
HSI HD2900 1GB
Corsair 620W PSU
After building it I tried applying power and after 1sec the power died without any POST beeps to help me (all cpu, system, psu & cooling fans ran during the 1sec of power). I disconnected all the non-essential power sockets (HD's, optical drives, extra cooling fans/leds etc) and tried again with the same result.
Then I removed the Graphics card (in case it was the cause) but the power still died without POST beeps (hoping to get the "No Graphics" 3 beeps). That left the PSU itself, Mobo and chip. I tried a mates PSU but still had the same problem so "Oh crap, it's the Mobo or chip" I'm thinking.
HOWEVER, my mates PSU when back in his PC now refuse's to work either! SO I'm guessing that my Mobo is the cause as it's blowing up psu's (i.e My mates is Kaput - internal fuse? I'm thinking - but mine is still going so mine will probably have a relay) but as it's the 1st major problem I've had in a load of builds that I've had a problem like this I thought I ask if anyone else has had a similar experience?
Hey Guys,
My CPU is running a little hot on the Stock cooler:
(Idle [speedfan])
System :45c
CPU: 45c
AUX: 42c
HD1: 33c
HD0: 31c
Core 0: 45c
Core 1: 45c
Core 2: 43c
Core 3: 43c
...I think it is time to get a proper cooler for my i7 860. So does anyone have any recommendations for a solid cheap aftermarket cooler, for up to £30? I probably will be overclocking in the future, but not by an insane amount, and I am not concerned by how loud it is.
Thanks!
ASUS P7P55D Evo
i7 860 @2.8GHz
4GB 1600MHz RAM
2x 4890 CF
500GB HDD
250GB HDD
My first post!
I posted asking for help in 2007 during a build where a dodgy CPU/Mobo combo was causing issues, check out the spec-
I have no idea because the forums have been wiped twice since I originally joined in 2000. But it would have been about overclocking or cooling.

I thought the 172X was the one to go for, as had 12ms response time, DVI, ultra-thin bezel, and looked pretty good too.
But - I've been looking for ages for this, and no-one seems to stock it. It's listed in *** overclockers store, but is never in stock.
I have since found out two things - firstly, the response time of 12ms, although looks good on paper, isn't as fast as other screens with lower response times. This, apparently, is due to Samsung having opted for a PVA matrix type screen that may well offer super-fast transitions when pixels are switching from one extreme to the other (from white to black for example) but which really begins to slow when it's required to switch incrementally such as from white to gray or from light gray to medium gray. So not so good for games.
Also, after e-mailing Overclockers, they say that they will probably not get this monitor back in stock, and Samsung are rumoured to be replacing it anyway.
Does anyone have any information of a replacement? I really like the style of the ultra-thin bezel, but won't spend £405 unless it really is the best gaming LCD monitor.
Mine is 5 years old now, so 7 years old must be 1st gen i5/i7?
Still decent.![]()
