What was your first (PC) computer, 286,386?

We had acorn Archimedes computers at school. Was great fun sending crude messages to the girls in my class and editing the teacher's documents because he hadn't set up any permissions. :)

There was a great game called lander or virus. Polygon ship thingy. Also reminds me of star glider on my mate's dad's old PC too.

One of my first setups :P

Can't remember the FIRST pc i ever owned.. All i remember is the HDD was a few Mb

Forget the exact year, about 1994, my dad bought me an Escom 486 DX4100 with 4MB RAM, 540MB HDD and 14 inch monitor. Loved it though, Encarta was like a new world. A year or so later, I saved up and paid £95 for 4MB RAM lol!

First home pc was a Celeron 333mhz cpu with 64mb ram. 8gb hard drive and a voodoo 3 2000 gpu. Cost just over a grand. Oh the fun that was had playing TA on wireplay :)

Although I dillied around on my mates and brothers Dragon 32 and then Commodore 64/128 my first Micro was an Amiga 500 upgrading along the way.
My first dalliance in IBM compatibles was a 286 a local software pirate made for me.
My bro kept ranting on about "going PC" because "look at all these free Blobby disks" !!
So I got one and a Blobby disk and reading a text file on the cd it was created on an Amiga !! lol.

I spent a LOT of money upgrading my Amigas and put it in an Eyetech tower with my own first build PC.

A Tyan Tsunami P2 @300Mhz shared the same tower with my heavily modified A1200 and used "Siamese" to link the two together.
Basically the Amiga annihilated the PC but Non Linear Editing stuff was becoming available more affordably on the Pc and Commodore had gone bust.
(I videoed weddings ... and was in a video maker group.)

I really did stay with Amiga MMUCH longer than most and ran my own User group (3Cag) and held Amiga Shows (Amiga Big Bash)
Yes.. I'm the ONE that bought an AmigaONE XE (It's still in the loft dismantled)

Here's a vid of it. It really was that responsive !
It was at that time I started delving into Linux (Debian Woody) as Amiga Os4 wasn't available for the XE motherboard at the time.

Oh.. Here's our little video groups main offering. It's about 20 years old now though !!

If you're sad enough to watch that then after the ending there are the out-takes which are probably the best bit of the whole film

My first one was a spectrum but couldn't get my head around it so it went up in loft and is still there in box.
My first real PC was a Packard Bell sometime in late 80's or early 90's when Windows 98 was around - in fact it might have been later - just can't remember.
Know a bit more now than did then but it still confuses me - born too early in the clockwork era. :)

Very first) Olivetti P75 (75MHz) 8MB Ram, 1MB Graphics card and SoundBlaster 16 w/ 800MB HDD. W95
2nd) Mesh Pentium 233MHz MMX, 16MB Ram and 1GB Hard drive w/ AWE 32 sound W95 and 2MB graphics

BUT

The first PC I ever built was an AMD Athlon Athlon 900MHz , Abit KT7-RAID Motherboard and 128MB Ram with NVidia M64 32MB graphics and 20GB HDD with Onboard sound (I think).

Good times.

Disregarding the Amstrad 1512 and 1640’s I used to borrow when I worked for Dixon’s, my first pc I owned was a p200 mmx.

Still have fond memories of playing Combat Flight Simulator on it, still have that game (it still works!) that pc is long gone alas.
