What watch do you wear?

Liking the recent teaser of the new Pacific coming out Friday to pre order. Wonder what the price will be. The blue one caught my eyeballs:

The case side profile especially looks interesting, and the back display is a magnified sapphire which worked well on the Coniston so looking forward to seeing how this new movement looks through that.

The lume looks nice

If it's the same compound they used on the Morar then it will be excellent indeed, that lume was brighter and longer lasting than my Tudor Pelagos, and the Pelagos is a really nicely lumed watch...

Looks interesting indeed, thanks for the heads-up ;)

That fooled me, i thought that was one of those swiss ones that cost the same as a small house

You're not the only one, it fooled a lot of people around me :D

As I said for the price paid I am very satisfied, it's a nice piece to wear on the wrist.

After nearly 2 years and seeing many prototypes, my Horage Tourbillon 1 has finally arrived! A genuine in house flying tourbillon created by Horage and subsidiary THE+ (the actual company behind Bremont's "new movement"), it's got a hell of a spec list with 120-hour power reserve, silicon escapement and 904L metalwork.

By the way Rikki, any chance we could get some nice close up shots of the movement/tourbillon? ;)

I like the blue one but having seen the lug to lug length... Not for me I'm afraid. Also the movement is the SW215-1 which is what my Stowa has, looks like they've added a premium price on for that even though it's not even the elabore grade let alone the Top grade Stowa use so for not too much more cost.

I think the lug to lug is what takes it off my wish list, the movement will still look decent, just rather bland given the caseback is a magnification sapphire lens so you'd have expected elabore grade at the minimum.

40mm case size I'd be fine with but the lug to lug needs to be 44-46mm, not just over 47mm!

Edit*

Just to reinforce my thoughts, here's the new Laco Flieger Pro with the same movement but in Top grade, cheaper than the Marloe Pacific yet considerably higher quality and spec, I specced up the sandblasted finish with top grade movement and double sided AR coated sapphire (which comes as 13 layers having had this option before on a previous Laco):

My money would certainly go on that. in fact I think I will treat myself to that exact spec in the new year or shortly after!

More details/info now available on their website: Pacific – Marloe Watch Company

I like the Pacific 66 model personally but I have to say I'm not impressed by the choice of leather straps only. They all look pretty bad and don't really suit the vibe of the case/design.

Vegan leather - WTF is that? Plastic? Can't say I'm too impressed by these watches. They just look a tad too bland.

Pretty much, there are some 'non animal' leather being made from things like mushrooms (mylo) but in most cases 'vegan leather' is just pleather by another name and arguably just as bad or even worse for the environment than leather.

Personally I think marloe are starting to price their watches too high, I'm not sure I'd spend over £1000 for them when I could go get an oris, longines or other similar brands with more heritage etc.

Having seen in person how quickly and unevenly the Oris bronze patinas (and not always in a good way), I'd personally strike any Oris bronze cases off my wishlist from now on :p

Watch covered half way by a shirt cuff most of the day and watch worn daily? You're gonna have half a watch that looks different to the uncovered half within a week :D

Unless the bronze was treated to not patina beyond a certain level, then I would not buy any other bronze watch. Only a handful do this treatment like Stowa.

I like the Oris but wouldn't buy it because I already have a stainless steel one with the blue dial and I'm not a fan of getting two watches that are the same.

Plus as much as I've been enamoured with the look of a bronze watch I just haven't taken the plunge because of a few reasons, one is the patina and I suspect I'd get bored of it eventually or just not wear it as often as a stainless steel or titanium watch.

Found one in stock, on its way tomorrow

I won't be using the bracelet... A Joseph Bonnie Tropic is on the way from France :D

First time buying a new Seiko release.

Might have said this here before but currently daily wear a Garmin FR745.
Really want to get a proper watch that I can appreciate and pass on when the time comes.
Toss up between an IWC Pilots Chronograph IW377709
Or
Breitling Avi Ref. 765 1953 Re-edition.

Can't wear 2 watches and the Garmin is practical. Don't want 1 of the above watches just for it to sit in a draw 95% of the time.
