What watch do you wear?

I prefer the cleaner RO versions, as I think the case and bracelet design just looks so damn clean - that is just a little too cluttered with all the guff on the dial.

But I wouldn't say no! Nice purchase!

Gus I'm looking for something with a little quality , rugged and simple . Must also be able to see at night as I'm always out and about in the dark .

Was thinking of either of these , any advice . Or can some one suggest something different , £300 budget ? But rubber strap , G shocks look to complicated.

Nite Hawk

Torgoen T16

Nite watches look fairly nice but they, along with Torgoen, seem pretty expensive for quartz. For £300 or under with good lume, I personally would look at Seiko (even Orient) divers. Deep Blue also have some excellent pieces in that price range if you look hard enough. Lum Tec are also good but your budget would probably be from their quartz range.

Or save your pennies and get a Seamaster.

Nothing against the Seamaster - I really like them but there's a tad of a price step up from the above to an Omega and if its a tool watch your after do you really want to spend that money on something that's going to get bashed about? Also the lume doesn't go out (for 20 years or so) on a Nite whereas you won't be getting more than a few hours out of normal lume even if fully daylight charged .........

Iv'e had three and still have two Nites including the Hawk and I love them and so disapointed I couldn;t get my old MX-50 repaired :(

As for the Hawk, its a big watch case wise (51mm) but can definitely take some punishment - its potential weak point is the mineral glass

Have you looked at the Nato, Aqua or Chrono models ? they all come in Saphire with rubber band

I'm not interested in spending more than £400 on a watch, it isn't financially sensible for me at this point in my life. Plus I'd be paranoid. :p

I appreciate and admire them, and have pictures of them, but won't buy one. Besides, I have my inherited vintage gold Omega as a best watch. :)

I'll have to get some pictures of it...

Seiko get my vote too.

Random question, but apart from Skidder (I'm sure I've seen him post such stuff) has anyone tried (and succeeded?) repairing / restoring a watch themselves?

New strap on the Breitling (pictures really don't do it justice).
