Just picked up yesterday!
Very nice , Apollo 8 one? I've looked at this one a couple of times
Lovely watch. I have a year 2000 model, little has changed but a better movement. Although mine is great at keeping time.
£400 every few years to keep her ticking right.
That, and a rolex submariner (2008) are just an incredible pair of watches.
What's special about 2008 for the Sub?
Oh, nothing particular in the watch world. It's just the version I have. Although it was the version that started to have rolex etched around the inside ring, and before they made it beefier around the edge. For me I like it more than the new updates.
Plus it was before the prices rocketed. I paid 3.3k...new ones are like 6.5k now. I could sell mine tomorrow for 6k which surprised me a little.
I sold a half gold / blue sub many years ago for £2500
Oh and a Panerai 104 for £1400
And a seamaster auto for £550
Ouch. Not suggested you needed to sell, but I would hopefully not sell either unless I needed the money to put a roof over my head.
Surprised to see the 2000 year seamaster chronometer going for a couple grand too. Bought that in 2001 new for £1100
I went through a phase of not keeping stuff long, they were all sold to fund new ones
I have a 45mm planet ocean that I bought brand new for £1450 so that will be in profit
Planet Ocean is nice
I use it as a holiday watch, for beach and if we do any quad biking etc as it seems tougher than my others
It is indeed fella, saw it at Baselworld last year and made enquiries - apparently only the second one in Scotland to appear at the boutique and everyone is skint in January so they got to me on the waiting list
Im like the Dark Sides quite a bit, think that one shares the same case too just everything else is changed around.
At the moment I'm alternating between these two:
I hate you. I would have had it Still not scratched my PAM itch!! One day... apparently my wife thinks there are many more important things to purchase (she wants a new car too!) than a Panerai for me. I think she's wrong personally
Have a 372 now so all ended well
Will be a while. I'm in virgin lounge at Heathrow heading to HK
