To be honest this crap you hear is small fry, its the stuff you don't hear or see that's proper stuff going down. What this is doing is bringing to light the whole scene as a whole to the general public, the whole Sony debacle really put the shiver into the consumer.

I cant see the credit card companies being happy with Sony either :D

Lets hope companies start taking security a bit more serious now, mind you its nothing but an arms race anyway. just look at the cracking of the RSA Secure tokens to see that. My work had a fit when they saw that happen.

Does it matter ?. If the 'rumour' gets out to the general public then who is going to support a CP user regardless of what he has been arrested for.

Once you get tarred with that brush, your screwed even if it turns out to be false.

Remember the case of the Sun on its campaign to keep kids safe posting pics of kiddy fiddlers only one was a wrong picture. Some overview here for those who missed it. IIRC he got some severe harassment, things painted on his door, pushed through his letterbox etc but unfortunately cannot find a link for exactly what happened after his picture was posted other than the subsequent court case.

Dox just means Documents, so if you Dox someone you find there details. ie. you find the person hiding behind the alias.

According to Sabu and an IRC chat a few days ago Ryan was ratted out by m_nerva a member of 808chan. Ryan hosted IRC for ED and other chans. Had nothing to do with lulzsec. Poor guy :( since he has had ridiculous things pinned against him now like the hacking of SOCA and CIA.

Also if anyone was on their IRC last night, apparently the "Dox" I posted a few pages back are complete rubbish, the only one that was true was JoePie Tropiary and Lulzsec haven't heard from Joepie since they were released but tropiary was on the IRC last night so I guess being an Anon helps when hiding ;)

It may well be but it doesn't stop it from being what unfortunately happens as the case with the Sun and other 'name and shame' campaigns where they have got it wrong have proved.

You think it is dumb, I think it is dumb but hey, let me introduce you to the knee jerk vigilantism do gooders who make up part of the British public you seem to have missed :p.

So now Lulzsec have hacked into the Arizona Police Department and released a large amount of sensitive data, apparently including informant information.

This is going to get people killed :/
