What words do you always spell wrong/always see spelled wrong?

I can't help it, I notice everything - grammar, spelling, punctuation.

Apostrophes! What's so goddamn hard? No-one writes "hi's" do they? So why "it's" when it should only have an apostrophe if it is an abbreviation of "it is" or "it has"?

their instead of there
their instead of they're
your instead of you are

Whatever. I'm obviously a spelling Nazi although I don't normally complain, it just irks me.

As for my own mistakes, it's not bad spelling but dyslexic typing. Like Eric Morecambe famously said: "All the right keys, but not necessarily in the right order!"

I've come to the conclusion that most people can't grasp the concept. Even people who have had it explained to them, and they've seemingly understood it, subsequently continue to get it wrong and write gibberish like on it's own. I give up.

The incorrect use of words gets me far more wound up that poor spelling. All the usual culprits of course, such as there, their & they're, effect & affect, lose & loose and so forth.

As for "grammar naziism", I don't have a problem with those who are "sensitive" about spelling or grammar as at least they recognise their deficiencies. It's the few who are borderline illiterate yet don't seem to care that bug me. This applies more to the use of apostrophes than anything else, which is a particular pet hate of mine.

As for me, there are a few words which I always end up spelling incorrectly. One that springs to mind is amend or amendment, which I always end up writing with a double-'m' :)

I had the biggest problem with interest for ages, I have always had trouble spelling but I am getting a lot better as I am catching myself out now and I’m am actually looking up how to spell words. I want to be a teacher and this is something that I have neglected for too long.
