what would be the worst way to go?

I have to but in a little here, but I have seen a lot of people opt for cancer?

Can I just point out something here, but I have had cancer, my wife had cancer, we have both thankfully recovered from it, but my sister in law died from it, and I have lost several friends from Cancer.

I would like to make this clear, but to each and every one of you who say that you would prefer to die of cancer, clearly have not had to put up seeing someone you love, suffer in such a horrific way, nor have you any true idea of the facts. Not every one has the great fortune of not suffering until the last few days. Most take months and months of absolute agony, of torturous pain, of sickening chemo / radio therapy only to prolong their lives to suffer even more turture, and then on the last few days when they truly have given up and really cannot move due to the pain, - ONLY THEN do they get morphine, and then they might as well be dead because they are permanently high and have no idea that their families are around them, but they can still, even through the morphine, they can still feel the pain.

Really. I have seen people go quickly, and I have seen people take years, but dont you dare say something as ridiculously idiotic as say that you would like to die of cancer. I find it absolutely abhorrent and offensive

There's a cheese wire being moved very quickly underneath you back and forth at, er, 400mph, and you are tied by the wrists above your head, then lowered on to it 1mm an hour.

You can hold your legs up away from it .. but your own strength eventually failing starts the carving up by the wire.

(!)

You would die of suffocation well before you went anywhere near the wire.

Similarly, this is how crucifixion kills you.

I've had a quick scan but can't say i've seen anyone say they would prefer to go through cancer, just that there are more painful ways of going.

I watched my grandad die from liver cancer, I know what it's like, but i personally think that fire would be a worse way to go.

Probably being eaten by a snake.

Im not so sure that being eaten by a snake would be as bad as you'd think?

I mean, I saw a documentary about this some time ago, and there was accounts from people who had both seen huge snakes eat their friends, and a few that had actually been eaten or rather were in the process of being eaten.

Now, there was one particular example, that I was crying over, but a small child had been grabbed, the snake coiled around him and all his mates either ran off or ran up the trees and they said that this lad never said a word ( of course he could not ) but in just a few seconds, he was looking up at the others and then his head plopped back. the snake then ate him. They said it was very quick and they all said that they didnt think he felt much at all...

However, I must also add, that my brother breeds snakes, and owns over 2 dozen huge constrictor snakes and when he feeds them live food, the snakes crush the **** out of the poors animals ( sometimes literally ) and they often spit bloody and crap themselves and you can sometimes hear bones breaking like someones popping bubble-wrap paper, so surely a smal lhild will be no different?

But there was also a grown man who was in teh process of being eaten too. He had gone limp, and the snake was already around his head ( Still coiled around his body mind you ) when the villagers turned up... The snake had to escape and left the guy, who recovered. Now, whether this is true or not I dont know, but they guy was saying that it happened so quickly, that he never knew what was going on.

So, Im not sure about this one?

Similarly when you hear about shark attack stories, they all say that they felt a bump and when they reached down, their leg had gone, so I recon that death by shark will not hurt physically, it will all be in the mind.

with bigger prey i think the constrictor ones constrict as you breath out so you cant breath in again and you suffocate.

Current evidence tends to suggest that the undulation of the snake's muscles during construction actually functions to literally stop the circulation, and thus the heart, of the prey before complete asphyxiation takes place. In other words, they suffocate you to death while slowly but surely bringing your heart to a stand-still. Nice.

But no, it's not illegal in the UK to feed live prey to a snake, provided that you don't make it a public spectacle and/or charge for admission (at which point it becomes animal baiting).

Personally anything involving torture, fire or pain scares me. I'm not afraid of death at all, but dying 'badly' scares me.

Accident severing either the carotid [snip] arteries

this is actually an extremely pleasant way to die. as soon as the blood flow to the brain stops you briefly enter a state of gentle delirium while quickly losing mental capability, followed shortly by unconsciousness and then death :)

Off topic completely, but isn't it illegal to feed live food to snakes?

No, but it also depends how he does it.

I think if he just does it and doesnt make a sdeal of it, its ok, but if he seems to get a kick out of it, or he does it in a cruel way then yes, its wrong, but since the snakes eat them naturally anyway, its acceptable.

He also only does this once in a while anyway, ssnakes dont eat that much at all and they are supplimented

Oh, I should have read this post first.

RE: constrictors. You are correct. Heart failure is imminent, even when suffocation does not work, its only a matter of time.
