Hello,

The temperatures on my two 6870's before I took them out to clean were idling in the 40°c~ zone which was fine and then when I took them out, cleaned them and reseated them, the temperatures are about 20°c apart  (by clean, I mean blow the dust out)

GPU1 is at 48°c while GPU2 is at 71°c  GPU2 has more load then GPU1. Isn't this meant to be the other way around?

What could cause the temperature issues?

Yes, it is spinning freely :) I checked and it doesn't seem to be hitting anything and also afterburner reports the fan speed the same as the first one.

Thanks for the reply!!

have you tried re-seating them, and also tried swapping the cards in the slots they use?
if yes to all the above youl have to wait till someone 'less noob than me' comes along to help im affraid

I have tried reseating them but I will defiantly try again tomorrow. The PCI bracket seems different on one than the other :p I will also try switching them :)

Thanks!

Definitely see the effect of switching them because it could be as simple as their position in your case. Typically you might expect the top card to be warmer because it has heat rising up from the card below into it. However, depending on airflow in the case (and how the gpu fans are arranged) it could be the other way round.
