Hey guys.

currently have a cooler master seidon 120mm liquid cooler, keeps my CPU at 30c idle, and 46 under load (FX6300 @ 4.1).

im thinking about a custom loop, so I can take the chip further towards the 5Ghz mark.

I have a Phantom 410 case. so plenty of room.

as I have no clue what id need to a custom loop, iv come to ask you guys :D

all I want it for is the CPU, and I can expand it at a later date.

cheaper the better to be honest :)

thanks guys.

need any more info, just ask.

Well the basics are:

  • Pump
  • Res
  • Radiator(s)
  • Tubing
  • Fittings
  • CPU block
  • Fans (for Rad)
  • Coolant
  • Fan Controller (maybe)

Going to be honest, I don't think the investment is worth it.

And between £150-500 depending on what you select for components.

Than you will want to use water on GPU, than motherboard. :D

It would ne worth it to me :)

and thank you for listing what I need, I will have alook at the bits/components I need :)

If you're only concerned with CPU temps, one of the cheaper kits would work well - if you want to include your GPU now, or further down the line, it'd be worth considering either buying everything separately, or buying one of the more expensive kits with a D5.

Something like the XSPC Raystorm AX240 kit would be simple to fit, and solid for a CPU-only loop. For CPU+GPU, you'd want something a little beefier like one of the XSPC D5 kits with 360mm or more rad space.
