Crysis is fussy but thats gods for you![]()
It WASN'T coded badly. Anyone who says otherwise is talking crap. Games such as COD use precalculated lightmaps to achieve higher FPS. The lighting in Crysis is entirely dynamic which is why it looks so awesome when it's at full settings.
I used to run tri sli with 280's
3 was poo
2 wasn't great
1 was more stable but not brilliantly fast
I went to the 4870X2 and loved it. Then i got another 4870X2 and loved it more!
My old rig Intel e6600 with hd4830 played Crysis on maximum settings at 50fps. Just a good combination.
Like currently I have a bad combination: i7 940 @ 4.2ghz with same gfx card as above, can only get crysis playable on medium settings :s. Similarly WoW is no longer completely smooth, had to turn some shader stuff off. I guess just match your cpu to your gfx card and you will be fine. No point in have a fast processor if you have a 3 year old gfx card.
No my friend it is hardware thats' fussy i Garuntee your that I can run crysis ebtter with e6600 than with gtx295
You are either lying or you are lying. No single card today can handle 1920*1080, 4AA AND VERY HIGH (with godrays and paralax maps and all that) in 30FPS completely STABLE.
Hell, I run Crysis with my GTX280 OCed in 1920*1200, NO AA, HIGH details, and it runs 30-60 fps, but sometimes goes under 25....
better off getting e6600 as it is better for gaming. however quad cores are better for some things but seriously, in games when they use 2 cores(=99%) it is better to only have 2 as less power used to tell the threads wheere to go or something like that. i prefer gaming with my e6600 than my i7 [email protected]
wh is
e6600 is rubbish for overclocking and slows down as its incompatable with the components.
for example, i7 940 @ 4.2 runs better with 4830 than e6600 NO IT DOESNT so i must conclude that actually compatablilety with components is best. dont voerclock jsut find the right components for your components if you see what i mean. i garuntee you that with e6600 i can beat gtx295 at crysis multiplayer
as i keep telling people match it to your cpu. no point in buying nvidia gtx295 if you only have a e6600, you need a i7 940 if you get a 260 you need at least 64 bit processor obviously.
abng on, it is better to get older hardware that is compartable. only reason i dont switch my i7 940 back to e6600 is because i getting gtx295 since i liked the colour but if performance rubbish i switch back for the immense e6600 again

forgot about this thread, when i was taking screeny's for high res thread with the custom texture pack, i was on xp but using the dx10 emulator at 1920x1080 with 4AA and the game was completely stable
im now on vista ultimate 32bit, just been onto crysis now to try proove you wrongbut cant seem to get the dx10 crysis to go any further then 1280x720, but the dx9 crysis exe will let me go to my native res which is 1920x1080, how do i sort the dx10 exe out to go to this res? :/
