Trouble is my missus is quite shy and goes very quiet when something or someone goes against her. She’ll just look away and go despondent, trying to look like its not bothered her.
What she did do, and I know her too well, and she did… she’ll wait about an hour, maybe 30 minutes or so and slowly back off into a place no one can see her, and then slunk off to be on her own…. I normally let her, as she’ll not talk to you until she is ready. It hurt her, but my mum on the other hand doesn’t tend to keep her mouth closed when someone pulls stunts like this..
Told her to shut up, and basically told her that her son’s etc can make their own choices as to who becomes a daughter in law to her, to which that caused an even bigger silence to what the missus was in. lol also said I'd made a good choice and she's happy with me. lol
Brother called her a right bog monster, and even jibed that my missus did well to lose so much weight, obviously to hit back in my defence. He did it tactfully, sometime into the evening after the incident over burgers and salad… lol said something like who had all the burgers, and looked at her (bob’s missus), then said well it wasn’t my missus how else did she lose so much weight after gaining it after operations? Which as funny as hell. Made my missus smile, she needed it.
