What would you do with £125 Million???

I think I'd be modest, but live in comfort, no stupid extravegances, a decent house, decent car, but not anything stupidedly wasteful of money, wouldn't worry over spending money on decent computer, and tech gadgets, and the rest I'd hoard in the bank, no need to go all posh, but having the money to live life without ever really having to worry about money would be one of the plus points for me, want to take a nice holiday?, no problem, no scrimping and saving etc, so normal life with the odd indulgeance

don't think my plans for life would change, and I would not make a big deal out of it, only family, close friends, bank manager, etc would know

Didn't we do this a few days ago, but over £100 million?

Still, it'll be interesting to see what people think they'd do with £125m that they couldn't do with £100m. ;) :D
Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on that...what else is in that price range apart from yachts?

I'd buy a slightly nicer yacht and have some change left over to have equisite food flown out via helicopter :)

I'd also like to consider buying a lovely golf/country club my family's been involved with since its inception....it was sold by its owners to an American company who 'modernised' it and turned it to trash and subsequently sold it on a few years later :( - though the new owners seem to be much nicer. Should be a snip at ~£18m :)

Edit: I think the only sensible answer to the question is "I have absolutely no idea." I mean, to £125m from far, far less - in seconds - is a huge shock. I probably wouldn't tell anyone apart from immediate family and girlfriend.

I really do believe that i would die on the spot once i had really realised that i'd REALLY won.

Failing that i'd give 2 million to each close family member (mother, father, trust fund for my sis). Employ insanely top-flight financial advise.

10 millon to start some sort of trust worthy charity.

Then i would start to spend:

Start an insurance company.
Buy a bugatti veyron.
Buy a castle, have it fitted with the usual.. Cinema, recording studios, pool, gym, helepad, hillclimb track on which to race my stable of exotica.
Learn to fly helechoppers and planes.
*Compete* in a gumball rally.
Start a massive open air music festival that would run for 4 days each year with all profit going to charity.
Pay someone to blow my brains out.

In reality though 125 mil would be wasted on me.

For starters: few nice cars, a few very nice cars, a nice big house and a couple of holiday homes around the world. That should put a nice big dent in it.

Then invest quite a lot in relatively sound but low-return investments (renting property maybe?) so that I get some continued income, then a bit less in more risky ones for a bit of fun and the prospect of even more money. I'd donate lots to charity, too.

Then, I'd travel. Travel travel travel. I'd probably try and visit all the countries that were worth visiting, and I'd have enough money to travel in comfort all the way (although that might not always be the most fun way :)).

I hate threads like this, because it makes me think of all the things that I'll never do :(

Lol uhh the list would be quite long... But about 5 mill to all the relatives

Then a V.Nice house with a 4 Car Garage... Ariel Atom, Mini Cooper( dont ask me why the wife just loves them) Uhh that new 4 door Aston, Probably something like an Audi S8 for everyday.

Then drive the S8 to overclockers and buy enough kit to build the perfect Lan party and have all my mates picked up by Limo ;o)

Ohhh and a Yaucht in the med... uhhh then prolly give whatever I dont get round to spending each month out of the interest to charity.

Another thing - I'd realise just how much money Bill Gates gives to charity. For example, £125m ~= $200m which is a third of the Gates Foundation's latest large charity donation

Anonymously buy a couple of lifeboats for the RNLI and keep shtum. Other than the people who had to know ie my wife, accountant and solicitor everyone else would be kept in the dark.

Then try and work out how the hell I spend it without everyone realising and turning into parasites, I can't imagine the number of "friends" you would suddenly acquire. Although, that said, I'm a heartless ******* so I wouldn't have a lot of problem with telling them where to get off.
