What would you do?

Colour code door handles and bumpstrips. Wheels off an MG ZS180. MG ZS front and rear bumper and sideskirts. MG ZS spoiler. Lower 15mm.

Job done, nice looking car.

But then when people find out what you've done, you'll get slated and called a cheapskate for trying to make it into something it's not. :)

And 15mm is nothing... you need at least 25mm.

/Looks at his 50mm springs and grins :D

Also, what would i need to be thinking about when looking for alloys, what size (17's?) and low profile tyres? Shame my car is dark green, would love it to be black!

What would the cost be to lower the car? what would i have to do etc?

There are loads of wheels which are 200/400 fitment. You've got a pick of some of Rovers finest wheels (bar the 17" Vitesse wheels which IMO are the sex).

I like the 16" Hairpins or 17" Straights, just type MG Hairpins or MG Straights into Google Images to see what I mean. You can pick up full sets of both from the bay of E for under £200.

Suspension, if you just want it lower, you can pick up some G-Max 40mm springs for about £100. Loads of people on Rovertech use them. If you want to improve the handling even further, you can get a complete set of springs and shocks for £200.

If you'll be using the car for mainly town driving and the odd hoon, standard shocks will be fine :) I'm fitting shocks from a 220 Turbo to my car.

If you can wait a month or two, I'll have some 15" Turbo wheels (6 spokes) up for cheap.

To lower the car, you'll basically have to remove each strut from the car (break the ball-joint link with a hammer or ball-joint removal tool) and use spring compressors to compress the springs to the correct height.

I reckon a good garage could do it in a couple of hours, or find a friend in the know. Otherwise, get over to Rovertech (if you're not already there) and ask someone nearby for help.

Ok shall look into that thanks :) The alloys are going to be a starting point and lowering on the cheap :P. Anything else i can do for fairly little which has a good effect? either visually or in performance?

Mazda... Rover... Mazda... Rover...

I know what I'd rather have ;)

Seriously though, nice car you're getting there. I do liike the 3's.

Still think your comment about 'burning it' was a bit harsh though.
