What would you do?

Engine failure... probably locked the wheels or something crazy :o

I really doubt 45mph on a slight bend, no matter how much you were egging it on, would be enough to get lift-off oversteer. Especially on a Scooby AWD!

Wouldn't have locked the wheels on an automatic, surely?

That car could get lift off oversteer quite easily at legal speeds and I nearly came a cropper due to this in my first month of ownership (previous 4WD experience was an Audi TT, no RWD experience at all) . I'm not sure why. I know the auto version of the has a 65/35 torque split to the rear which is what I thought caused it.

No idea TBH of the behaviour of an automatic in that situation :(

I didn't know Subaru's were that **** :o:D

Mine was very "special" in both senses of the word. Totally different beast to the Impreza. BTW the failure was due to my garage overtightening the belts when they replaced them according to the insurance assessor, who pointed out that the mount for the tensioner had been bent.

Anyway, this thread is supposed to be about an MR2 and making sure not to stack it due to inexperience with RWD cars. ;)

The GTI is automatic, no thanks ;)

Got the MR2 Thursday, love it :) More pics of it on my drive with the top down :D
