Ive walked away from a cash machine before and left the 20 quid i withdrew in the slot, an old women started screaming at me to get my attention, i felt like a proper idiot on a packed high-street with everyone looking at me.

Reminds me of when i found £510 in a purse in a deserted car park a week before Xmas. Handed it in - 2 days later the woman found out where i worked, came in, burst into tears, kissed me, gave me £20 and said that it was the only money she had for her kids for Xmas and she'd been saving up all year.

I once did this at a cash machine at uni (walked off and left the money). Went back about 20 mins later when I realised what a tool i'd been, asked at reception if anyone had handed some money in and to my shock someone had! Was well chuffed, if not a little embarrassed! 
I'd have probably guarded the machine and waited the 30 seconds for it to swallow the cash and credit his account.
The ATM's at GunWharf are separate and no banks are there so you can't just take it and walk it inside. That would be a silly option given that you can just wait anyway.
This has happened to me before, luckily with a small amount of money. Never got credited to my account, which means some punkass took it.

Not people you gotta worry about but the bloody ATM itself!
I once withdrew £20, nothing came out the cash rollers, it beeped at me and retracted nothing. Never got credited to my account and after 2 written appeals the bank said it balanced and therefore I must be bsing.
Not quite sure how it balanced if I take £20 and nothing come out.
