I scratched my car a couple of months ago putting something into the boot, left 3 little chips down to the metal.

A local guy repaired it for me for the price of £80, but when i collected the car it was raining so I couldn't inspect the repair properly.
Next time I cleaned the car I noticed a full line of metal under the laquer where he had obviously missed when he had sprayed it (on a crease on the bodywork)

I contacted him he came out and looked at it and said he would sort it, let me down 4 or 5 times, and now he just continues to ignore my calls.
I text him saying if he didnt want to sort the car out he could give me money back and I would contact someone who did.
still no answer and I have tried to ring him a couple of times since

what can I do

1 - small claims court (cannot be a***d quite frankly)
2 - slash his tyres (costs him the £80 he cost me, VERY VERY petty but I would feel better)
3 - get a mate/ the missus to book in a repair and then turn up with them and have words
4 - Get the missus to get her front wing repaired then refuse to pay him.
(not really keen on this idea either as I have already repaired it with rattle cans all it really needs now is a good cut and polish)

He doesnt have a premises but I have been to his house (although he claims he doesnt live there any more and I haven't driven past since he made this claim)

Since having the repair done I have found out that he has a poor reputation around here but now its too late.

Really annoyed about this, although the bodywork is safe and protected till I do get it sorted I know the line of missing paint is there even though no one else sees it till i point it out.

It's £80, I'd drop it. [2] could get your arrested and [3] and [4] aren't advisable incase the guy is a nutter, [1] is the legal option but I can see why you wouldn't want the hassle.

You may be bigger and look more scary but maybe not quite as clever as you think?

Chalk it up to experience and move on. £80 is not worth landing yourself in trouble over.

forgive me for releasing the keyboard warrior from within.

I wasn't seriously thinking of slashing his tyres, I just don't like being ripped off and it P***es me off thinking about it.

Option 3 however is quite viable, as I can't get him to reply to a phonecall or text meeting him face to face and asking him what he is playing a is quite possible.

I was however quite open to any other reasonable suggestions?

There are no other reasonable suggestions. You've lost 80 squids, not a lot of money in the big scheme of things. Stop textin him, stop phoning him, don't drive by his house, just move on with your life and be slightlty more circumspect in future dealings.

plaster your review of his services over local facebook groups, forums, any local media that will damage his business.

Or threaten him with that first and see if you can get your money back.

If he does a **** job then if nothing else, letting everyone local know how bad he is will be the best thing to do.

First try confronting him personally again, not threatening stay polite and see the response.
If that fails then threaten with small courts claim, explain how you payed to get the damage fixed, not a shoddy job.
Finally, if he still refuses, go to small courts if you can be bothered. Otherwise, I'd just make sure someone else doesn't make the same mistake.

option 2 would make you a ***** who belongs in jail imho.
option 3 if he manages to avoid you personally, you can just call from a different number and pretend to be someone else, but again, once in person, try to stay decent.
option 4 would probably give you more trouble.
