......with 4 pints of milk??

House mate who has moved out a week ago has left a 4 pinter of whole milk in the fridge.

Mrs S does not drink whole milk (only skimmed for her) and I am currently reducing lactose, so a nice 4 pint drink is slightly out of the question.

Not wanting to throw it away am looking for something to do with it....

OcUK...it's over to you..... :D:D:D

Bin it.
You cant eat it regardless.
About the only sensible thing is something like ice cream which lasts a long time and she can have over time. But that requires a lot of other ingredients.

I would do a baked custard myself. Half savoury with mince and half sweet.

Can still do lactose, am just reducing it, so small amounts over time would be ok.

Have vanilla pods in cupboard, so some ice cream is a possibility there too

Mmmmm, memories.

Chuck it in the freezer, order some kefir grains, when you have them thaw milk and make kefir. No need to worry about lactose as it's all used up in the culturing process.

I'm all for reducing waste and using up things that are left but is it worth the time and effort to save less than £2 worth of milk?

Ask your neighbor if they want it?

Freeze it?

Make loads of pancake batter, make pancakes, freeze them.

Any recipe using significant amounts of milk that I give you is going to be perishable and won't get eaten I'm afraid. Except cheese or butter making as has been said.
