What Would You Do?

One thing you have to consider is we don't actually know that bigger cards will be out by Christmas. I'm personally just going to assume no sane priced big cards until around this time next year.

We know one of the Vegas will be here by October; most likely Vega 11 which will be the smaller one - which will more than likely match/beat 1080 with large Vega; Vega 10 - coming most likely early January which will replace Fury line and go after P100.....

That's the thing, I really have no concrete reason to believe that big Vega is coming in January. Much like people last year were like 'wait for pascal', and then pascal not arriving til half way through the year.

P100 isn't even a gaming card. And even then you can't be sure how long after big cards (the first one being GP102 or similarly sized vega?) release will a cut down version be available at non Titan prices.

Its made me consider whether to put in an order now for 1080 custom, but I'm kind of hoping to see a 1070 custom. But I'm not sure if the 1070 custom new exchange rate ends up closing the gap on the 1080 custom at the old exchange rate since its likely we will be able to other one but not the other.

I am going to wait but if prices are not good all I have to do is pick up something mid-end for my son and wait it out.

I would go with you're gut and what you feel comfortable with. I have considered placing an order now on a 1080 but limited in choice as I don't want to spend too much and don't feel comfortable being that restricted in options.

well AMD's launch and time lines - with Polaris have been solid - they moved up one of the Vegas to October (actually could be both Vegas which would be major 1 - 2 counter punch from AMD to Nvidia for the high end)

We know Vega is coming Oct - which one - or both we don't know. If the launch is like Polaris.......then both and that means Vega ready to launch a whole lot sooner than expected.
