What would you do?

Don't put yourself or him in such an awkward position.
I've changed my mind. Ask him out for a date and then when he says no, challenge him to stand and bang in the car park. When he says no to that as well you sucker-punch him by asking the questions you wanted to talk about all along and in his relief he'll spill the beans like some ham-fisted toddler with a can of Heinz in its barely-functioning mitts.

e: thinking this through further it is possible he will accept your date proposal and/or the fight in the car park so you still have options to get that inside knowledge either by sleeping with him and/or beating him up, or even one then the other! It's all about strategy, options, and timing.

Personally, I would not ask them for any further information about the interview.

I found this website useful when preparing for the competency based interview for my job:

https://www.interview-skills.co.uk/free-information/interview-guide/competency-based-interviews

I'm assuming you have seen the job description for this role so I would just prepare some examples of how you meet the requirements using the STAR method. This was exactly what the people that interviewed me were looking for and I was offered the job. Good luck!

Dont ask you don't get. Nothing wrong with being a little cheeky.

End of the day the worst he can say is no.

The problem with the British public is far to embarrassed to ask for things also its not about what you know it is who you know.

Take advantage of the fact you have a contact in the company who is in charge of recruitment, especially in the current climate, sod anyone else going for the job just look after number 1 and you will fine.

Best of luck.

Just do the interview. Allow any nepotism to be unconcious or at least unsaid! If you are well qualified for the job why do you need insider info anyway?
