how is it theft if it was free for buying the item, show me the clause that he agreed to, saying that if he returned the tablet then any free items recieved must be returned too, before getting a refund
if he has them then he can do what he likes with them, and nobody could stop him,

After the refund i believe. I guess for him its a moral issue.

He thinks he shouldnt have the ear buds because he returned the tablet after a couple days use...
