What would you like to see from PC Gaming in 5 years?

they tried that, even with a built in aimbot the console players got utterly destroyed.

Do you have more information on this as I would love to read it?

and is there a possibility of being able to play consoles online from the PC in the future as I would love it and if i'm not mistaken theres accessories where you can use mouse + keyboard on consoles so it isn't exactly unfair.

Except most people don't have their console in a position where they could use a keyboard, and console player with pad would be destroyed by console gamer with keyboard which would mean people would find it less enjoyable and less would play and companies would lose money.

and while some of the consoles can use m+kb in the dashboard etc, very few games support it and then the accessories just simulate joystick input with a mouse so are still laggy slow and imprecise.

I disagree I usually play CSS or MW2, I'm not exactly the best and most of the time I get destroyed but doesn't make it less enjoyable for me.

and with todays tech you can use mouse and keyboard on all xbox 360/PS3 games with something called XIM 2 and don't be fooled it runs just like a computer would.

Heres a demo:

But this isn't down to lack of skill it's a clear unfair advantage, do you still enjoy a css game with a blatant aimbotter on the server?

Did you ever play shadowrun?

that was cross platform and it really didn't work.

No it just turns mouse data into joystick style data, it can only move at the same speed and precision as the joystick.

Also good luck when MS bans you for using it if it becomes a problem.

Better graphics (obviously).

From reading the Mafia II review... a Mafia II type game where you actually need to use things like lightswitches to hide in the darkness etc... more innovative gameplay.

None of this motion controls either.. just a straight forward mouse/keyboard and joypad whilst sat on your sofa.

Also i'd like to see a working GTA type MMO.

More games using different technologies as a control inputs, like TrackIR and neural pulse accentuation (or whatever its called)

Better graphics (obviously)

Better story telling in games!

Do people think that games will move on from full HD graphics wise? It seems we are just stuck with majority 720p console ports for the time being.

Games have already moved on from full HD, in fact well coded ones even from the 1990s can support higher resolutions.

Don;t know about you but my gaming resolution has been beyond hd for quite a long time now.

I don't want there to be a 'PC' platform, only Steam.

The sooner everyone bows to our Steam overlords, the sooner it can deliver salvation.

Sorry I should have been more concise. What I meant was that in 5 years time will we see games whose native resolution is 2560X1440 and beyond.
Currently majority of games are 720p which can be upscaled to 1920X1080 but the latter isn't native resolution.

Some nice new exclusives and an end to crappy console ports and badly optimised games.

err no, consoles render them at 720/less and up scale, PCs render them at what ever resolution you set them to, there is no upscaling involved.

Also most games go beyond 1920x1080, as all the eyefinity/24"/30" monitor owners can attest too :)
